Application Process and Program Costs

Starting in 2019, the full-time programs at The French Pastry School will be offered in partnership with Robert Morris University Illinois.  FPS will no longer be associated with City Colleges of Chicago after January 15, 2019.

Application Requirements

To apply for the Pastry and Baking (LAP), Cake (LAG), or Bread (LAB) programs at The French Pastry School , you will need to complete an application.  FPS’ full-time programs are offered through a collaboration agreement with Robert Morris University Illinois, a fully accredited and licensed educational institution. Thus, all applications should be submitted online through the RMU website here. 

Before continuing with your application, please familiarize yourself with the application requirements below.

Regular Admission

Admission decisions are based on a review of each student’s academic record and professional experience. Each candidate is considered on an individual basis. In making admission decisions, the following materials are considered:

  • High school diploma, GED score, military documentation or college coursework (required)
  • Work or community service experience
  • Standardized examination results
  • Demonstration of character necessary for success in college


Adult – 23 Years & Older

Students who are 23 years and older often possess numerous life and professional experiences that demonstrate abilities to be successful in college. For these students, the following materials are considered:

  • High school record or college associate degree (required)
  • GED score
  • Examination results:
    • American College Testing (ACT)
    • Standard Achievement Test (SAT)
    • Applied Education Skills Assessment (AESA)
    • College Level Examination Program (CLEP) Dantes
  • Evidence of successful employment experience

International students should contact the school directly for additional requirements.

Admissions Timeline

There is no specific application deadline for admissions.  Admissions are conducted on a rolling basis for all of our professional programs.  Since classes fill up quickly, it is in your best interest to apply early to reserve your space in your desired session and to allow adequate time for funding processing.  The French Pastry School will continue accepting applications until the first day of class as a rolling-basis admissions institution.
